Product Description
The Owner's Insights on the Avant Garde 2.0
I like tables that do two jobs properly, and the Avant Garde 2.0 is one of the few pool dining tables I'd actually let take over my dining room. The slate bed underneath means the ball roll doesn't drift the way it does on cheaper wood-bed tables, you notice it on a long pot down the rail within the first few shots. Drop the dining top on and it's flat and stable, it doesn't budge when you lean on it carving the Sunday roast.
It comes in 6ft or 7ft. If your room's on the tighter side, go 6ft, you'll still get a proper game, and a 7ft crammed against the walls does nobody's cueing arm any favours. This isn't a table for a five-minute knockabout between courses either, it rewards people who'll actually play. If that's your household, it earns its floor space twice over.
What Customers Say About the Avant Garde 2.0
Owners keep coming back to two things: how well it plays, and how well it looks in a normal room. Buyers of this table describe it playing "straight and true," with a finish that looks properly considered rather than bolted on. The dual-purpose design gets singled out often too, several people use it as their actual dining table most of the week and only clear it for pool at weekends. Delivery communication is generally praised. One buyer did receive the wrong finish initially, sorted out without much fuss.
Why You'll Love the Avant Garde 2.0
- Slate bed construction gives you a true, consistent roll shot after shot, not the drift you get on cheaper wood-bed tables.
- Concealed ball return tucks the balls out of sight, so the table looks like proper furniture between games, not a games room leftover.
- Included dining top swaps pool for a full dining surface in minutes, no separate table taking up space.
- Free accessory pack brings two cues, a full set of balls, chalk and a triangle with the table, so you're playing the same day it's installed.
- Chrome-plated corners and a reinforced slate support box take the knocks of actual use, not just a showroom floor.
- Five finishes and ten cloth colours let you match the table to your room, not the other way round.
Why You Should Consider a DPT Pool Table
DPT has been hand-building pool tables in the UK since 1974, and it shows in details like the chrome-plated corners and reinforced slate box you won't find on cheaper imports. Choosing an established British manufacturer means parts, support and accountability are a phone call away, not a lucky email into the void.
How Much Room Do You Need for a Pool Dining Table?
Rule of thumb: allow the table's length plus at least 5ft on the two cueing ends, and the width plus around 4 to 5ft on the sides, so there's room to actually swing a cue without hitting a wall or a sideboard. For the 6ft table that works out to roughly 14ft x 11ft of floor space, for the 7ft, closer to 16.5ft x 13.5ft. If your dining room's tighter than that, the 6ft is the better call. Not a compromise, just the right size for the room you've actually got.
6ft or 7ft: Which Size Fits Your Room?
The 7ft plays closer to a proper pub table and gives more room around the pockets, but only if your space allows it. The 6ft loses none of the slate-bed quality, it's the same build, the same cloth options, the same accessory pack, just a smaller footprint. Most people converting a standard dining room go 6ft. If you've got a dedicated games room or a genuinely large space, the 7ft is worth the extra floor.
Five frame finishes and ten cloth colours cover most requests for the Avant Garde 2.0, on top of the choice between the wooden and glass dining top. If you're after something outside that range, our team can talk you through a custom package before you order.
