Every table here is built for English pool, the game played in UK pubs and leagues, and every one has a slate bed. There are 16 to choose from, by DPT, FMF, SAM and Naroki, in 6ft and 7ft sizes, priced from £1,449 to £5,995.
English tables use 2in balls and tighter pockets than American tables, so an American ball set won't suit them. Use the filters to narrow by size, price and brand, or go back to all Pool Tables.

What makes a pool table English?
English (UK) pool tables are built for the game played in British pubs and leagues. Compared with American tables they use smaller balls, tighter pockets and smaller table sizes, so the two aren't interchangeable.

What size is a standard UK pool table?
7ft is the size used in most UK pubs and leagues. 6ft is the common choice for homes where space is tighter. On the tables we sell, the playing areas are:
- 7ft English: about 183 × 91cm (FMF) to 186 × 94cm (SAM and Naroki).
- 6ft English: about 156 × 80cm (SAM and Naroki) to 160 × 81cm (FMF).
You also need room to cue on every side. With a standard 57in cue, SAM recommends a room of at least 15'11″ × 12'11″ for a 7ft English table and 14'11″ × 12'5″ for a 6ft. Read more in What Size is a UK Pool Table?
6ft or 7ft English pool table?
Choose 7ft if your room takes it and you want the same size as a pub or league table. Choose 6ft if space is tight or the table is mainly for family games: a 6ft table you can cue around properly plays better than a 7ft squeezed into a small room. Which cloth: wool or speed cloth?
Many of our English tables let you choose the cloth:
- Wool cloth, such as Victoria English Wool or Strachan, is the traditional choice. It has a nap, so it plays a little slower and the ball rolls differently depending on direction.
- Speed cloth, such as Pro Speed or Hainsworth Elite Pro, plays faster and more evenly in every direction.

Delivery is included on most tables to mainland England and Wales, and installation is included on most American and premium slate-bed tables. Deliveries involving stairs carry an extra charge. English pool table FAQs
What are the dimensions of a standard UK pool table?
A standard 7ft UK pool table has a playing area of about 186 × 94cm, and measures around 210–218 × 118–123cm outside. A 6ft table has a playing area of about 156 × 80cm.
Is English pool harder than American pool?
It's different rather than simply harder. English pool is played on a smaller table with tighter pockets and smaller balls; American pool uses a larger table, bigger balls and wider pockets, so shots tend to be longer.
Can I play American pool on an English table?
Not properly. American balls are larger than English ones and suit American pockets and table sizes, so buy the table for the game you'll play most.
Are all your English pool tables slate?
