Basketball arcade games: which size and style?

The main choices are size, who'll be playing and whether you want a screen.

For children: the WIK Basketball Kids is a smaller, colourful version sized for young players, who often find full-size machines too tall to score on.
Classic full-size: the WIK Basketball is the straightforward hoop game, with three difficulty levels and a basket that moves in some modes.
For tight access: the WIK Compact Basketball passes through a 90cm doorway and its height adjusts from 248cm to 310cm.
A showpiece: The Big Show has interactive side panels that react as the ball moves, so it's as much fun to watch as to play.
With a screen: the WIK Nova has a screen behind the basket and the same 90cm door access as the Compact. The WIK Cyber Basketball is WIK's flagship, with a 75-inch screen.

Basketball arcade machine sizes: will it fit?

Check the ceiling first. Most of these machines are 2.5m tall or more, and we recommend a ceiling of at least 2.7m for The Big Show. The Compact and Nova adjust from 248cm to 310cm, so they can be set lower for a smaller room. On the floor, the full-size machines take up around 2.5m in length and about 1m in width: the Cyber Basketball is the biggest, at 186 × 263cm, and the WIK Basketball Kids the smallest, at 160 × 80cm. Leave space in front of the machine for players to stand and throw.

Then check the route in. The Compact and Nova arrive packed at 88 × 115 × 194cm and pass through a 90cm doorway. The Cyber Basketball arrives in two crates, the larger at 100 × 190 × 210cm. The WIK Basketball, Kids, Compact and Big Show sit on six wheels with a locking system, so they're easier to move into place. If anything is close, send us your measurements before you order.

Indoor or outdoor basketball arcade machines

WIK makes every machine here for outdoor use. The WIK Basketball, Compact, Big Show and Cyber are described as weatherproof for use all year round, the Nova as completely waterproof and the Kids as water-resistant. That makes them a good fit for holiday parks, campsites, seafronts and beer gardens. If your site is very exposed, message us first and we'll check the details with WIK.

Basketball arcade game payment, tickets and running costs

Each machine comes with an electronic coin acceptor fitted. On the WIK Basketball, Kids, Compact, Big Show and Cyber this is a COMESTERO RM5. A ticket dispenser is available as an option on the Compact, Big Show, Cyber and Nova, along with a banknote acceptor (and a card reader on the Compact, Big Show and Cyber). WIK rates the WIK Basketball, Kids, Compact, Big Show and Cyber at 105W in demo mode and 180W during a game, on a standard 230V supply. Power figures for the Nova aren't published yet.

None of these pay out tickets as standard. For games with a dispenser fitted, see our ticket and prize arcade games.

Linking basketball arcade machines

The Compact and Big Show can be linked, so groups compete on several machines for the best score. A row of linked basketball machines works well for parties and busy weekends.

Basketball arcade machine delivery and warranty

Delivery terms are shown on each product page. The WIK Basketball, Compact, Big Show and Cyber list a 12-month warranty. The Nova is a new model that WIK lists as coming soon, so ask us to confirm availability, lead time and warranty before you order.

Basketball arcade machine FAQs

Can I have a basketball arcade machine at home?

You can, if you have the space and ceiling height, but these are commercial machines built for public play, at commercial prices. The WIK Basketball Kids is the easiest to fit.
