There isn't one fixed size, but full-size tables are usually 7ft or 8ft. Home tables of 6–7ft suit most games rooms. Sizes are given in feet, but check the actual measurements, as they vary by maker. Across our range:
| Size | Typical footprint | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| 6ft | Around 199 × 107cm (commercial) or 192–200 × 106–114cm (home) | WIK Dusk 77, Dybior Blizzard |
| 7ft | Around 213 × 122cm | Buffalo Hurricane II, Heemskerk Navona |
| 8ft | Around 238 × 128cm | WIK Arctic, WIK Neo Single (240 × 130cm) |
Many WIK tables come in a choice of 6ft or 8ft on the product page. Leave room at both ends for players to move, as well as along the sides. As a general guide, our WIK product pages suggest a room of around 3.1 × 1.8m for a 6ft table and 3.5 × 2.0m for an 8ft. If space is tight, a 6ft table is the safer choice, and smaller kids' tables are around 142–163cm long.
This choice decides most of the price.
Home tables, such as the Buffalo Dominator 7ft air hockey table (£895), Buffalo Hurricane II and Heemskerk Masterplay, are built for family games rooms. Most are lighter, at around 63–118kg, and they run on free play.
Commercial tables from WIK, SAM and Heemskerk are built for daily public play. Most have a coin mechanism fitted or available, LED lighting, and heavier cabinets, typically around 136–240kg for a single table. They cost more, but they're made to take a busy weekend in an arcade. If the table is only for your family, a home table will do the job for much less.
Our home tables start at £895 for the Buffalo Dominator. Coin-operated and coin-ready commercial tables start at £4,495, and multi-player tables at £7,895.

If you want a small table for occasional family games, a tabletop or budget table from a high-street shop will cost far less. Our range suits keen home players and venues that need a table to last.
An air hockey table works by pushing air from an electric blower up through small holes in the playing surface. The puck floats on that cushion of air, which is what makes it glide so fast. So the blower is the first thing to check when you compare tables.
The most common complaint about air hockey tables is a slow puck, or "dead spots" where the puck stops gliding. It usually comes down to two things: a blower that isn't strong enough for the size of the table, or air holes blocked with dust.
Check the blower details before you buy. The Buffalo Hurricane II and Heemskerk Coliseum use two motors, the Heemskerk Navona has a 108W fan, and WIK's commercial tables such as the Dusk 77 and Neo list a 160W air pump. To keep any table playing well, clean the surface regularly and clear blocked holes, as Heemskerk's guide to dead zones explains.
Only tables built for it. Eight of our WIK tables are made for outdoor use, including the Arctic, Storm and Big Wave, from £5,595. Check the product page for the details of each one. An indoor table shouldn't be left outside.
Yes. The air comes from an electric blower, so the table needs a mains socket. For example, the WIK Dusk 77 runs from a standard 230V socket and uses 82W in demo mode and 260W during a game.
Wipe the playing surface regularly and clear any blocked air holes, as blocked holes cause dead spots where the puck slows down. Heemskerk's guide to dead zones shows how.
Yes. Our full-size tables stand around 81–85cm high, so younger children may find a smaller table easier. The SAM Baby Evo (72cm high), WIK Twinkle Star and WIK Magic are made for younger players.
