Its football tables are built for places where lots of people play, such as schools, offices, canteens, pubs and family homes. Every model here has a tempered glass playing field and cast players rather than screwed-on ones. Spare players, bearings and balls stay available for years after you buy.

Open or glass-covered playing field?

An open-top table is the classic choice for offices, clubs and games rooms, where players look after the table. A glass-covered table encloses the pitch, so balls can't go missing, drinks can't be spilt into the table and the game is quieter. Covered versions suit schools, hospitality and busy public spaces.

Telescopic or continuous rods?

Continuous rods run through the table in one piece and come out on the far side when pushed. They're stiffer, which gives more control and speed, so they suit adult players, offices and clubs. Telescopic rods slide into each other and never stick out of the opposite side. That's the safer choice where young children play, and they need less space at the sides.

• TacTic (£2,515): Heemskerk's heavy-duty professional table for busy offices, canteens, pubs and clubs. It weighs 73kg, with a 25mm plywood cabinet and rubber levelling feet. The High TacTic Cover version can take coin, token, contactless or ticket payments.
• Vittorio (£2,695): for a stylish games room, with a wood-effect cabinet on white metal legs. It weighs 90kg.

Heemskerk King Pro: the NTVB competition table

The King Pro (£2,999) is approved by the NTVB, the Dutch Table Football Association. It weighs 98kg on a metal base, with a sandblasted tempered glass playing field for ball grip and three-colour score counters by each goal. It suits a serious games room, a club or a workplace.

The Sunshine Outdoor (£2,790) is built to live outside. It has a marine plywood cabinet with a melamine coating, stainless steel telescopic rods and screws, and anodised aluminium edging. Is delivery included?

Delivery is included on most tables to mainland England and Wales, and the Time Out, Soccer School and TacTic are delivered and assembled by our team. Heemskerk football table FAQs

How much space do you need for a football table?

Allow about 80cm on each rod side for comfortable play, on top of the table itself. Most Heemskerk tables are around 134–137cm long and 78–87cm wide, not counting the rods. Telescopic rods need less room at the sides than continuous rods.

What does a glass top do on a football table?

A glass top encloses the playing field. Balls can't be taken or knocked out, drinks and dust stay out of the table, and the game is quieter. Between games, it doubles as a flat surface.

Can a Heemskerk football table go outside?

Only the Sunshine Outdoor, which is built from weather-resistant materials. The other five are indoor tables.
